Learn Reiki
Our Focus
A unique system of Reiki that places spiritual development at its core. Unlike conventional Reiki, which often focuses on degrees and hands-on healing, Makoto ReikiDo also delves into the mind-based aspects of this profound healing practice.
We offer in person, virtual, and telephone support to all learning and supports suitable for your needs
Key points about Makoto ReikiDo:
- Spiritual Focus: The system emphasizes the spiritual path for practitioners. We meet you wherever they are on the journey, recognising the unique needs and stages of life.
- Caron’s Approach: Caron, an experienced Reiki Master / Teacher and Buddhist Practitioner / Teacher, able to provide students with rich learning opportunity. She shares her own journey through stories and lived experience, helping practitioners grasp Reiki as both a mind-based practice and a profound healing system.
- Beyond Hands-On Healing: While hands-on healing is a common perception of Reiki, Makoto ReikiDo reveals that it’s just a small part of the system. Understanding the mind is crucial as energy and mind are inseparable. The system equips practitioners with a variety of tools and techniques to rediscover their inner truth.
- Reiki Sangha: At the heart of Makoto ReikiDo is the Reiki Sangha, a community of practitioners who learn and grow spiritually together. Whether you choose Reiki as your path or not, the Sangha welcomes you to events, where you can receive treatments, enjoy friendship, and explore the system further. Likewise you can meet and chat within our online platform.
- Approach to Learning: Makoto ReikiDo offers day intensives and continued learning through monthly Reiki Sangha sessions. This approach allows practitioners to consolidate their healing practices before progressing to the next stage. We teach online and in person and combine approaches at all times.
A Makoto ReikiDo practitioner, you are in control of your journey and practice reveals the truth. Generosity and gratitude are woven into the fabric of this spiritual path.

Tantric Reiki Practice
The term “tantra” literally means “thread”. Tantric practices harness a wide variety of experiences, along with mental and physical energies. Buddhist tantra is primarily found in all Tibetan lineages and also in Japanese Buddhism, especially Shingon, in which Usui was a practitioner. The following are some approaches:
- Sound – Mantra
- Symbols – Mandala
- Body – Mudra
- Subtle energy manipulation
As we advance in practice these approaches may be used for realising the ultimate nature of reality, especially when “reality” is understood in terms of the nature of mind itself. When one knows that suffering arises from our misunderstanding of reality, we begin to see that we falsely take phenomena that are “empty” of any reality to be objectively real, separate, and unchanging.
A practitioner committed to realising the truth may through a variety of Reiki practices discover aspects of their Buddha nature or realise the ultimate ground of Dai Ko Myo.
Within the Makoto ReikiDo system, the profound practise of Tantric Reiki are observed through the following:
- Light Blessing Practice
- Sleep Yoga for profound presence and healing
- Healing through purification of karma
- Union of abiding with another in Reiki Practice
For our Tantric practices please refer to Caron’s teaching schedule
