To become a Certified Makoto ReikiDo Practitioner involves:

• Completion of Reiki 1
• Completion of Reiki 2
  • Absent Healing practice method
  • Advanced symbols and mantra practice sadhana
  • Reiki Treatment Practitioner training and clinical placement
• Study of Buddhist Philosophy (Science of the mind) to understand the internal and external reality
• Completion of all learning requirements

This training is a minimum duration of a year

Credentialed Makoto ReikiDo Practitioner requires: 

210 hours of study and practice

This is the minimum hours required to demonstrate guided learning, personal study and reflection, participation in training, direct/indirect learning and supervision through the 1st and 2nd Degree Practitioner levels .

On successful completion Makoto ReikiDo Treatment Practitioners will:

• Have access to all resources enabling you to establish a safe Reiki business
• Be certified as a Makoto ReikiDo Treatment Practitioner
• Obtain membership with IICT as a Makoto ReikiDo Treatment Practitioner
• Obtain Insurance with IICT as a Reiki Treatment Practitioner
• Ongoing access to the International Reiki Sangha and online resources

Spiritual path

Makoto ReikiDo lineage is understood as a path of sincerity returning to its primordial source — the clear, all‑pervading radiance of ones ultimate nature (Daikomyo – Mahāvairocana). Reiki advances to become a way of aligning body, speech, and mind with the Great Light that underlies all phenomena. In this view, the practitioner uncovers the luminous ground already present within.

Mahāvairocana (The Supreme Cosmic Buddha) represents the true nature of phenomena itself — the vast, unborn field of awareness from which compassion naturally flows. When Reiki is practiced with Makoto (true sincerity), the heart becomes clear, and the practitioner begins to recognise this inner radiance as the same light embodied by Mahāvairocana.

Thus, Reiki becomes a gateway: from personal healing to cosmic clarity, from technique to realisation, from the human heart to the Great Sun Buddha.

To gain Makoto ReikiDo Master – Spiritual Practitioner, Buddhist Philosophy and Compassion Path Practices are required. This takes approximately 2 years of dedicated study and practice .
