Soul retrieval and the system of Reiki
Vital energy and life force
Inspired by the teaching of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche of the Bon Tradition.
Rinpoche describes the soul as the subtle vital energy within, as the inner essence of the elements earth, water, fire, air and space. He describes life as being unsustainable if these inner essences or elements are not balanced. Reiki practice works with the subtle vibration of life force energy which is Reiki. A Reiki Practitioner facilitates the restoration of a persons life force energy. A practitioner holds space for the natural flow of subtle vital energies and to restore a natural state of balance.
The Reiki Precepts and vital life force
It’s interesting to see within the Bon traditional the connection with vital life force energy which as mentioned above is Reiki. Rinpoche describes the importance of our relationship with things and situations as pivotal to maintaining the balance of our life force energy. What he refers to is the state of mind that a person takes to each situation which impacts the stability of our life force. If we take an unbalanced mind, a mind of worry to situations we are pouring away life force but if our state of mind is free of attachment and clinging we are able to maintain balance. A mind that sees the beauty in all things and opportunity in diversity is someone able to maintain equanimity and does not give away freely life force energy. For the Reiki Practitioner to work to embody the Reiki Precepts :
- Just for today do not anger
- Just for today do not worry
is to explore, understand and reduce these mental obscurations allowing us to live with greater love and kindness for oneself and others. Once we overcome anger and worry we are more able to practice the precept:
- Just for today be kind to all living things
Mastery of the precepts will enable us to maintain our vital life force and to live with greater balance.
Giving away the soul
It’s so easy to give away our life force energy through our work, home life and in relationships. We may worry if we have no job and likewise we may be stressed in a job due to work pressure and demands. We may have family situations that are dysfunctional rather than supportive or people in our life that simply zap our essence and feed from our vital life force energy. When life force energy is low a person appears drained, lacks vitality and motivation and may appear withdrawn.
The essence of vital life source
Element of earth
Earth element has a stabilizing, grounding-connecting quality. In balance a person is able to focus, feel strong, steady and joyful in just being. If you have lost the essence of earth you are likely to be less stable, less connected and ungrounded, you may always seem dissatisfied, agitated, ever searching and restless.
Water
Brings a sense of ease and comfort even when resting there is a great sense of peace, caring and loving state, calmness and a natural flow. If you are not feeling at ease you may not feel comfort within yourself or those around you, you may feel things are off or not in tune.
Fire
When you have fire a person is enthusiastic, inspired, energetic, joyful and creative. When you lose the element of fire you aren’t sure who you are, where you’re going, you lack energy, vitality are uninspired and have difficulty completing things. Revitalising fire element can be energised through laughter and creativity.
Air
When balanced we feel flexible, lively, fresh and communicative. If air is lacking lacking we feel stuck unable to move, there is no development or transformation. If air element is not retrieved we loose our sense of flexibility we are unable to move, our life force is just not enough.
Space
Space essence is a principle element. To find space within your self, stillness of body, speech and mind spaciousness allows us to release tension. Space allows you to recognize your inner qualities. A person can begin to feel connected with the elements and their life force.
Developing awareness of each element is important for the Reiki Practitioner to recognise self care needs. Building understanding of:
- how we loose each essence
- when we feel these elements fully and
- how they influence life
are important for the Reiki Practitioner. To be fully present in ones natural flow of life force energy is true self-care.
The truth of your life force through Reiki
Reiki holds within the system many tools directing us towards our truth but also helps us to understand the truth of our vital life force and how to restore it.
