Healing crisis

For some time Makoto ReikiDo Practitioners have had a sense of disharmony and a “knowingness” that something isn’t quite right. There has been a sense of unease, of planetary suffering with a deep unsettling feeling for mankind.  This week three Reiki practitioners with a sense of urgency to return to Reiki re-engaged with the Sangha. Reiki Practitioner experience the connection with subtle energies, near and far, inner and outer which takes ones intuitive nature to a very different level. A knowingness arises nudging and motivating an action.  There’s a feeling of something far greater sitting behind things, something that cannot be understood through cognitive reasoning. Then the unfolding of a tiny virus emerges sweeping across the globe, presenting great suffering and distruction on many levels.

Reflecting

On reflection it’s easy to see the cyclic nature of suffering over the ages. Killing fields too huge to begin to articulate, the devastating effects of natural disasters, greed, self-fulfillment, illness and disease. However, there’s one thing for sure human nature just doesn’t seem to change. We don’t appear to be learning on the mental, emotional and spiritual level of our reality. We may be smarter, have technological advancement and in theory live in better times, although that’s open for debate. There are pockets of human decency, camaraderie and care but when faced with a threat the default space is me and mine.

The pandemic of Covid19 has certainly stirred up peoples survival instincts, which makes sense as we all have eat and drink in the human experience to survive. However, on another level we can see that each and every sentient being is just as deserving as another, so why don’t we behave accordingly? Instead we fight over toilet roll and food supplies.

A mind of ignorance

Our actions, decisions, beliefs and values simply fall out of a mind of thick obscurations.  We act and respond to our “own fake news”. Ignorant to the fact that every though that arises is a distortion of reality. Our mind always wired to the twists and turns of the novel driven by strong emotions, patterns and behaviours.  We view “I” as a “self” and others as an “I” form  exposing our ignorance to the truth. We are lost to our connected nature. The closer that we can move to know our truth the easier the shedding of the layers of ignorance and a movement towards greater equanimity.

An infectious opportunity

During times of stress our mind stream will simply play out in exaggerated ways. We become unsettled, life becomes unbalanced and uncertainty drives fear and worry and ignites anger and frustration. We are seeing this in the shops, the work place, in our families and amongst friends. But just like the spread of a virus a change in our ways can be effective and just as infectious and will shift consciousness on far greater levels.

As a Reiki practitioner there is no better time to connect with your practice than now. Allow the precepts to come alive :

  • remain in the day and to be present and aware,
  • bring awareness to our mind and to pay attention to our worry and anger,
  • the practice is simply to notice the arisings,
  • clarify the reality of your thoughts and diffuse what does not serve you,
  • when we feel in our resources reflect on what we have and be grateful.

As we embody these principles in each moment of every day its then that we can generate a heart/mind of loving-kindness, a “being-kindness” which will transform the energy around you and infect everyone in your reach.

Healing times

Its time to deeply connect with the system of Reiki and to use the tools as pointers to unravel our truth exposing the insight required to transform our lived experience. In this unfolding one develops:

  • a heart/mind of compassion,
  • gains understanding of empty form and
  • develops the wisdom mind of the knower.

This shift in consciousness is required for a new and exciting future to emerge for all.
